Good work… way to keep working, the final really helped a lot of you. Remember that as you keep on working at the university, distributed practice and testing help. If it’s not set-up for you, create it yourself using online quizzes and self-testing.

Hello Scholars,

I just got back from the family trip to the beach (if you had been in class and listening you would have know this and wouldn’t be emailing me everyday about grades). The grades are looking pretty good and should be in the system with in the next few days.

Unfortunately, one person took the exam on a strange computer in a strange place and it kicked them off half-way through… this means (if I am a nice guy) that I will make them up a new final exam and have them come in to the university and take it which sets us back a few days.

I’m also planning on reviewing the bad questions (or rather bad scoring key) and tossing everyone some points to make up for it… I’m thinking the grades are going to be really good. A large number of people in the class have A’s already, without the points. I, of course, give myself full credit for setting up a learning environment that takes advantage of the way your brain works. Those of you that played along will be positively reinforced. I encourage you to keep up the tricks I shared with you

Don’t forget to come and visit and say hi when you see me wandering around campus… it was a really fun summer.

I think almost everyone did really well for a first exam… It’s always hard when you don’t know what to expect from me. Scores usually go up for later tests. The collaborative exams were really good!

The average score was a 68 and some change with a standard deviation of a little over 8 (M=68.45, SD=8.21)

Remember your individual exam is worth 75% and your group exam is worth 25%… so

(ind exam * .75)+(grp exam * .25) = your grade

The cut-offs should look something like:

D 58-60
C 63-72
B 73-76
A 76.75 +
