Any corrections

November 11, 2008

Scholars,

If you believe any of the test questions are incorrect (meaning you are correct and the answer key of bubbles was wrong), then comment on this post. Write out the question and answers. Then express why you believe the correct answer is…. and why the other three are wrong. Feel free to comment on each others comments.

    Dr. Robertson,

    Question #9 is as follows…

The sense of touch includes the four basic sensations of:
    A) pleasure, pain, warmth, and cold
    B) pain, pressure, hot, and cold
    C) wetness, pain, hot, and cold
    D) pressure, pain, warmth, and cold

We chose answer B and it was marked wrong. I know that answer A) is incorrect because it threw in the word “pleasure” as on of the four basic sensations. I think it is common sense to know that this is not a basic sensation and knowing this during the test, we eliminated answer “A” as a possible solution.Answer C) falls into the same category because we know that “wetness” is not a basic sensation. However, B) and D) are both very similar. Too similar to be asked in the same question. We think D) is wrong for two main reasons. Number one, because warmth and cold are not two extremes and two…because we asked you in your office about that question and you said that you would go with answer B) because hot and cold are two extremes. We agreed and still think answer B) was the best possible choice(as you told us) because “hot” and “cold” are two extremes even though the book states under Module 15.1, page 1, paragraph 2, third sentence that answer D) is the correct answer. We believe we should be given credit for this question. Thanks! :-)

Nice job commenting on that question. You were logical without being whiney. I agree with you.

Points for everyone thanks to this group!

Does the analysis at the top by T.J. include everyone in the class. Because we answered B as well and you marked it wrong. If you want an explanation like T.J. gave just ask. It won’t be a problem. I just wanted to know if you were refering to the whole class. Thanks
